If your engine turns over when attempting to start the vehicle but fails to start running, it usually means the starter motor is working but the engine is not receiving the correct fuel or spark needed for combustion.
This situation is commonly described as the engine “cranking but not starting.” While the starter motor successfully rotates the engine, one of the essential systems required for combustion may not be functioning correctly.
Modern engines rely on several systems working together to start correctly. These include the fuel delivery system, ignition system and engine sensors that control timing and injection.
The fuel pump delivers fuel from the fuel tank to the engine. If the fuel pump becomes weak or fails completely, the engine may crank normally but will not receive enough fuel to start.
