Important: what this does โ€” and doesn't โ€” prove

A MotorLoom Seller Declaration records information provided by the seller at the time it was created. MotorLoom does not inspect or mechanically verify the vehicle. It is not an MOT certificate, vehicle history report, mechanical inspection or guarantee that the vehicle is free from faults. Buyers should still carry out their own checks before buying.

Selling Your Car
Make Your Car Advert More Transparent

When you sell a vehicle, potential buyers usually have to rely on the description, photographs and information you provide in the advert. A MotorLoom Seller Declaration gives you another way to present that information clearly. Complete your declaration, preview it and, once created, add the shareable Seller Declaration link to your vehicle advert.

A buyer who sees the link can open the declaration online before arranging a viewing. They can see the vehicle details you entered, the statements you chose to confirm and any additional notes you provided. This gives interested buyers one place to review what the seller has declared about the used vehicle.

The Seller Declaration is not a mechanical inspection, MOT check, vehicle history check or MotorLoom guarantee. MotorLoom does not independently confirm the condition of the car. Buyers should still inspect the vehicle, check its documentation and history, and obtain professional advice where appropriate before purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Seller Declaration the same as an inspection?
No. It records what you, the seller, confirm about the vehicle. MotorLoom does not independently inspect or mechanically verify the car. Buyers should still arrange their own inspection and vehicle history checks before purchasing.
What if I don't want to confirm something?
Leave it unticked. Only statements you actively confirm are included in your declaration.
Can I edit my declaration after I've paid?
No. Once generated, the declaration cannot be edited. This keeps the original record fixed rather than allowing information to be quietly changed afterwards.
How do buyers check it?
Each paid declaration receives a unique reference and permanent online page. A buyer can use the Seller Declaration link to view the information recorded by MotorLoom rather than relying only on a screenshot.
What does the declaration prove?
It proves that the seller provided the displayed information to MotorLoom when the declaration was created. It does not prove that MotorLoom inspected the vehicle or that the vehicle is free from faults.
How much does it cost?
ยฃ1.99 one-time. There is no subscription.
