Keyless Entry System Warning Light

The keyless entry warning light indicates a problem with the vehicle’s keyless access or keyless start system. Many modern vehicles use electronic key fobs that allow drivers to unlock and start the car without inserting a physical key into the ignition.

Instead, the vehicle detects the presence of the key fob using radio signals. When the driver presses the start button or attempts to unlock the car, the system verifies that the correct key is nearby before allowing the engine to start.

If the keyless entry warning light appears on the dashboard, it often means the vehicle is unable to detect the key fob signal correctly. The warning message may also appear as “Key Not Detected” or “No Key Found” on the dashboard display.

One of the most common causes of this warning is a weak battery inside the key fob. Over time the small battery used in the key remote can lose power, which reduces the strength of the signal transmitted to the vehicle.

Another possible cause is interference from other electronic devices or a damaged key fob. In some cases the issue may also be related to the vehicle’s keyless entry receiver or immobiliser system.

Drivers experiencing this warning may notice that the vehicle does not unlock automatically, the push start button does not respond, or the dashboard displays key detection warnings.

Replacing the key fob battery often resolves the issue quickly. If the problem continues after replacing the battery, the vehicle may require diagnostic testing to check the keyless entry system and immobiliser components.

Keeping the key fob battery in good condition helps ensure the keyless entry and start system operates reliably.
